How to suspend requests

You may suspend requests you have made for library materials until a specified future date. Requests may only be suspended before items are available for you.

When requests are suspended, your name continues to rise in the queue but the hold will not be activated for you until after the date you specify. If you are unable to use materials during a particular period, suspension assures you do not lose your place in a lengthy queue.

·  Click the My Account tab
·  Enter the barcode from your library card
·    Click Access Your Library Account below
Shortcut: Begin entering the numbers that follow the zeroes in the middle of the barcode
·  Click Hold Requests on the Overview page
·  Check the box next to each pending request you wish to suspend
From the date pulldown boxes above the bar, select the month, day and year you wish your request reactivated.
This is the date you will be available after the suspend period. Items may not yet be available for you , depending on the length of the queue.
·  Click the Suspend request until: button above the bar
