SCIENCE FICTION, SCIENCE FACT
Many of the ideas presented in science fiction novels have a basis in scientific fact. Authors often use current scientific research as a springboard from which to speculate on future scientific developments. They may also examine the social consequences of new technologies that can now only be imagined.
