Pamela S. Burke joined the Foundation board in July 2004. Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, she attended Mary Washington College and received a BA from the University of Cincinnati, a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Virginia Woodrow Wilson School. Much of her career was devoted to health care administration and policy analysis. Mrs. Burke also spent many years involved with the Mark Twain house in Hartford, Connecticut. She is currently the public relations committee chair for the Williamsburg Botanical Gardens, is active with the Neighborhood Council of Williamsburg and serves as its liaison to the City’s Beautification Committee. Mrs. Burke is also an advisor to her college sorority’s chapter at the College of William and Mary. On the library she said, "I believe that a town and city’s library is the heart and soul of its community and is a rich resource to its residents. Williamsburg upholds that tradition and I welcome the opportunity to participate in furthering its outreach to all of us, young and old."
