Mary Woodward Clark joined the Foundation board in July 2006. She earned a BA from the College of William and Mary in 1972 and an MAE from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1979. During her career she taught in the Fairfax County Public Schools, served as an Adjunct Professor at Shenandoah University, and a lecturer for the Children’s Literature Conference Workshop. Mary and her husband James raised three daughters. They retired to Williamsburg three years ago, in large part because of the library. As avid readers, they use the Williamsburg Regional Library’s collections, computers, and other resources and appreciate its welcoming environment. Thinking about her role on the WRLF she stated, "I wish to give my time, energy and funding support as a grateful patron of the public library system."
