Berna Heyman joined the Foundation board in July, 2008. Prior to her retirement, she served as the Associate Dean of Libraries, Earl Gregg Swem Library, at the College of William and Mary. A Chicago native, Mrs. Heyman earned her undergraduate degree from Washington University (St. Louis, MO) and her MLS from Simmons College (Boston, MA). Her husband is retired from NASA. Considering her appointment to the WRLF, Mrs. Heyman explained, "I love libraries and everything they represent. That's why I became a librarian more than 40 years ago.... I am eagerly looking forward to this opportunity to work with the Williamsburg Regional Library."
