BigChalk eLibrary Full-text magazines, newspapers, television & radio transcripts, photographs, maps and reference works.  Includes Washington Post.
Business and Company Resource Center Search the database to find detailed company and industry news and information.  Users can find company profiles, brand information, rankings, investment reports, company histories, chronologies, and periodicals.
Computer Database Users can access periodicals on the computer, telecommunications and electronics industries.  Product reviews, industry status reports, company profiles and more are included. 
Contemporary Literary Criticism Online access to extensive biographical and critical information on contemporary authors.  Each entry contains a biographical and critical introduction, listing of principal works and sources for study.
CQResearcher Each issue of CQ Researcher takes a topic and discusses issues, background, chronology, current situation, controversy, and outlook for that topic. CQ Researcher online provides access to issues back to 1923.
Daily Press Obituary Index "The main source of these obituaries is the Daily Press, which has been the City of Newport News’ local paper since 1898. The current obituary index covers 1898 through 1988. This index also covers obituaries from the Times-Herald from 1902 to 1915."
EBSCOhost's Masterfile Magazine database covering many general topics such as news, entertainment, science and consumer issues.  Includes image searches.
EBSCO Literary Reference Center A completely full-text database that combines information from over 1,000 books and monographs, major literary encyclopedias and reference works, and hundreds of literary journals.
Expanded Academic ASAP This database contains information on a variety of academic disciplines from arts and the humanities to social sciences, science and technology.  Users can access scholarly journals, magazines, and newspapers. 
Foundation Directory Online Search for foundations and grants using the Foundation Directory Online Database.
Gale Biography Resource Center  Over 300,000 biographies on more than 200,000 people.
Gale Literature Resource Center In-depth information on the lives and writings of nearly 100,000 authors along with critical reaction to their works. 
General Reference Center Gold Integrates a variety of key business and general interest titles.  Contains national news magazines, encyclopedias, and business journals.

Grolier A collection of online encyclopedias including the following: Encyclopedia Americana, Grolier Multimedia Encyclopedia, New Book of Knowledge, New Book of Popular Science, Lands and Peoples, and America the Beautiful.  Also includes a searchable online dictionary and atlas.

Health and Wellness Resource Center

Find magazines, journals, newspapers, definitions, directories, and information on health, medicine, nutrition, diseases, and alternative and complementary treatments.
HeritageQuest Online Find census data, family records, tax lists, city directories, land and probate records, birth, marriage, and death records.
Infotrac One File Provides access to a number of periodicals on a wide range of topics.  Users can access periodical and news content from the New York Times to refereed academic journals.
Infotrac Religion and Philosophy Features a custom selection of more than 250 magazines and academic journals covering religion, philosophy, archaeology, and anthropology.
Junior Edition K-12 Periodical database designed for students in junior high and middle school.  Contains access to magazines, newspapers, and reference books for information on current events, arts, science, culture, health, people, government, history, sports, and more.
Kids Edition K-12 Periodical database for elementary school students.  Access full text magazines, newspapers and reference books.  Contains information on current events, arts, science, culture, health people, government, history, sports, and others.

Military and Intelligence Database Contains over 500 titles and over seven million articles of interest to military personnel.
NetLibrary A collection of books in electronic format (e-books), funded by the Library of Virginia. To use these titles, you must first setup an account name and password. 
NoveList Suggests books and/or authors similar to your current favorites.  Also includes subject and theme searches, award lists, and book reviews.
