Internet Use Policy

The Williamsburg Regional Library is committed to providing "free and confidential access to information" to all library users. The library has historically provided information in a variety of formats, and the WRL computer system provides the opportunity to add electronic resources from around the world to the library’s resources. The Internet enables WRL to enhance and complement its existing collection of resources available to users both in the library as well as from home. Anyone may use the library’s public Internet stations - no library card is required. There is no fee for use.

Internet access is available in both the Adult and Youth Services sections of the library. Some Internet stations can be reserved in advance, others are first come, first served. All users must follow our statement of User Roles and Responsibilities. Any patron who does not abide by any of these guidelines is subject to loss of Internet privileges at the library. As part of the WRL Safe Child Policy, the Library recommends that parents take an active role in sharing all library resources with their children, including the Internet.

In order to provide access to the broad array of information available on the Internet, the Williamsburg Regional Library maintains the Web site: www.wrl.org. Much of this Web site consists of links to Web sites that are not under the control of the Williamsburg Regional Library. These links are provided for reference only, and are not intended as an endorsement by the Williamsburg Regional Library of the organization operating the site.

User Roles and Responsibilities
