American Library Association
In 2000 the ALA awarded the Library the prestigious Loleta D. Fyan grant to pursue an expanded Feed Me a Story project. This program brings storytimes and a snack to an area supermarket every Saturday.

The support of the Anheuser-Busch Companies Managers Group has been given in assistance of Library efforts.
Artipelago
Proceeds from the raffle held during the Aesthetica Art shows, organized by the local artist group Artipelago, were donated in support of children's craft programs and art scholarships at the library.

In commemoration of the opening of the James City County Library, Brodart (the book distributor that handled most of the James City County Library collection purchases) made a generous in-kind gift in the form of a significant credit for purchases made by WRL acquisitions staff.
Estate of Ila I. Brose
A frequent library user and book group participant Mrs. C E. Brose made a significant testamentary bequest in support of the Williamsburg Regional Library. Proceeds from her gift will be invested for the long-term benefit of the library.
Bruster's Old Fashion Ice Cream
The Summer Reading programs have benefitted tremendously through Bruster's very generous in-kind support of incentive prizes.
Bruton Parish Church
Bruton Parish has made several grants including support of Born to Read, a reading program the library conducts in partnership with Olde Towne Medical Center and Booked from Birth I and II, partnering programs with Williamsburg Community Hospital that provide storytimes and information for families with newborn children.

the Burkes have been generous supporters of the Williamsburg Regional Library Foundation.
Estate of J. Genelle Caldwell
Continuing her long history of support in life, Miss Caldwell included a bequest in her will to benefit the Library. Her contribution has funded an endowment to fund children's programs. Undoubtedly, the J. Genelle Caldwell Program room at the Williamsburg Library will be the site for many of these programs.
The Carousel
The Carousel, a local business offering clothing and accessories for infants through preteens, funded give away books for all the children (several thousand) involved with the library's summer outreach reading programs.
Louis E. Catron Living Trust
Proceeds from Dr. Catron's estate donated to the Williamsburg Regional Library Foundation were used to establish the Dr. Louis E.Catron, Professor of Theatre Emeritus, College of William and Mary Perpetual Book Fund for the purchase of fiction and theatre materials.

Child Development Resource
Child Development Resource has supported the Mother Goose Packets which contain information on area resources and tips on caring for and educating infants. CDR also supports children's literacy programming.
Gladys and Franklin Clark Foundation
The Clark Foundation gave the Library Foundation a tremendous boost by funding the upgrade of furnishings in the renovated Williamsburg Library adult area. The Clark Foundation’s magnificent donation has provided current and future patrons with comfortable and beautiful surroundings to enjoy while visiting the public library. In recognition of this donation the Williamsburg Library's reading room is named for Gladys and Franklin Clark.
Juleigh Clark
Ms. Clark made a donation of over 50 new reference books to the library, adding reference materials that otherwise could not have been acquired.

Friends of Williamsburg Regional Library
Friends of Williamsburg Regional Library are dedicated to making our libraries a better place for both staff and patrons. The Friends board promotes interest in our libraries by sponsoring cultural programs for the community, and providing funds for special services and grants. Through a formal grant process, The Friends of the Library currently returns about $50,000 a year to the library to support programming and to purchase materials.

The Giant Step Award for 2004 was awarded to the Williamsburg Regional Library for Looking to Learn by Thomas Gale and School Library Journal.

While living in the area Ms. Hansel and her husband Mr. Govern were frequent and generous supporters of the library. Besides funding several Perpetual Book Funds, they also gave a contribution that was recognized by naming the quiet study at James City County Library in memory of Ms. Hansel's father.

Eric McDonald established the Walter G. and Betty C. McDonald Perpetual Book Fund to honor his parents, Walter and Betty McDonald. The McDonald Family continues to increase the value of this Perpetual Book Fund.
Jane G. and Robert McGaw
The generosity of Mr. and Mrs. McGaw is impressive. Through their contributions the Library has created the McGaw computer room at James City County Library and the McGaw Family Computer Literacy Center at the Williamsburg Library. The library's wireless Internet access within the Williamsburg Library was made possible through the McGaw's contributions. Mr. and Mrs. McGaw also supported the Williamsburg Regional Library Foundation's Collection Endowment and the Gab Bag program.
Millbrook Press, Inc.
In 2001 the Youth Services department at the Williamsburg Regional Library received the Lee Elliott Memorial Award from Millbrook Press. This award recognized the excellence in programs and services provided by the Youth Services department and came with funding to be used toward needs in that department.

In 2001 the Library received a grant from Square One through the Ready to Ready Initiative that will fund BookSmart. BookSmart provided activities that immersed children in programs that support emergent literacy. An adult component empowered parents of participants to use books with their children continuing the literacy process.
The TAFT Group
This publishing house awarded the Williamsburg Regional Library Foundation a grant to establish the precursor to the

Target has supported community literacy and programs at the library, particularly in regard to children.

Verizon Foundation grant support of the Mobile Internet Learning Center (MILC) -- MILC, Delivered by Verizon -- advanced a WRL initiative to deliver electronic resources to areas of the community that do not have access to such information, using a laptop server and four laptop clients and satellite technology. Verizon supports the Wheel of Reading each summer, as well.
