Jimmy Masters Other Borders

Program Series: 

"Jimmy Masters Other Borders"  quartet will feature Greg Dudzienski (tenor saxophone), Alan Parker (guitar), DeVonne Harris (drums), and Jimmy on bass. The quartet will be performing  "A Little Bass Music: the music of prominent jazz bassists over the last 60 years", with discussion.

Jimmy Masters has been Hampton Roads first call jazz bassist for over 25 years , having performed with numerous jazz luminaries over that timeframe. His recent CD, When Trees Speak, which was released in 2013, has received critical acclaim from numerous well-documented jazz writers around the US and in Europe. For this special show he will be discussing and presenting the music of prominent jazz bassists such as Oscar Pettiford, Paul Chambers, Ron Carter, Dave Holland, the late Charlie Haden, and others.
