Panglossian Productions has revived an 18th century comic operetta or "burletta," entitled, "The Milliners, Or Female Revenge." It is believed that this is the first production of this work in over 200 years. Ed Whitacre, a well-known actor/director in Hampton Roads, directs a colorful cast of interpreters and actors in a comic tale of men's and women's professions of the 18th century, with historical music researched by Barry Trott, and performed by Lynn Trott and Gigi Paddock on period instruments. Costumes are designed by Janea Whitacre, supervisor of the Colonial Williamsburg Millinery Shop. The project coincides with the "Millinery Through Time" conference in Williamsburg.
