The Williamsburg Regional Library provides a variety of electronic resources, including public computers that access the Internet.  Given the value placed on "free and confidential access to information," the Library does not require a fee or a library card for use of these computers.

Electronic resources shall not be used for sending, receiving, viewing, or downloading illegal material.

In accordance with Virginia Code § 42.1-36.1, all computers accessible by the public shall have technology protection measures which filter or block Internet access to child pornography, as defined in Virginia Code § 18.2-374.1:1, obscene material, as defined in Virginia Code § 18.2-372, and, with respect to minors, materials deemed harmful to juveniles, as defined in Virginia Code § 18.2-390.

In accordance with Virginia Code § 42.1-36.1, the Board of Trustees of the Williamsburg Regional Library authorizes the Library Director and the Director's designees to disable or otherwise bypass the technology protection measure to enable access for any lawful purpose.

Violations of this policy will result in the revocation of library privileges and possible prosecution.
