Selection of Library Materials
The Williamsburg Regional Library Board of Trustees delegates responsibility for selection of the library’s collection to the Library Director. Staff members choose items for the collection based on the wide range of community tastes and interests. Therefore, items in the collection will not necessarily appeal to all community tastes and interests.
Materials chosen for the youth services section are selected to appeal to children of different ages and interests. Therefore, not everything in the youth services section will be appropriate for all children. Library staff members will help parents and children locate materials, but they cannot presume to make decisions for parents as to which library materials are appropriate for their children.
