Visions of the Universe

Blast off to the library for cool space programs this winter!  From Jan. 13 to March 26 the James City County Library will be hosting the touring exhibit, Visions of the Universe:  Four Centuries of Discovery.  Supporting programs include:

  • Stellar Movie Marathon  showing Space Buddies at 10:15 a.m.; Space Chimp at 11:45; Space Camp at 1:15; and The Last Starflghter at 3:15.  
  • Star Wars Trilogy  (Episodes 4-6)
    A New Hope 
    The Empire Stikes Back
    Return of the Jedi 


    All at the WL Theatre
  • Space Storytime and craft
    7 p.m. March 2 at JCCL

  • Rocket-Building Demonstration and the movie October Sky  
    Rocket-Building 11 a.m., under the instruction of a 25-year veteran educator who conducts workshops for NASA. 
    October Sky  12 p.m. with rocket launch to follow
    Rocket-building for 3rd graders and older.

  • Shakespeare and Galileo (Drama)

Visions of the Universe  is presented by the Space Telescope Science Institute, Baltimore, Maryland, the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, Cambridge, Massachusetts, and the American Library Association, Chicago, Illinois, through funding from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
