Summer Reading for Teens
For rising sixth graders through rising twelfth graders

 Come back in 2010 for the Wheel of Reading!

Who?

Children entering grade 6 through 12 who live in Williamsburg, James City or York counties. Those who are ineligible to enroll in the reading program are invited to enjoy all of our other summer programs. Click here to see our calendar of events.

How?

Enroll at the library and obtain a reading log.  Please bring your library card with you to enroll.  Record the books you read on the log.  When you come to the library, spin the wheel for every 150 pages that you read.  You can have up to 10 spins each week.

When?

You may spin from 10:30 a.m. until 30 minutes before the library closes. 

  • Enrollment starts: Monday, June 15

  • Spinning starts: Monday, June 29

  • Spinning Ends: Sunday, August 9

  • Completed bids must be in by: 5 p.m. Sunday, August 9

  • Pick up prize:  Monday, Aug. 23 to Friday, Sept. 11

Where?


You may participate at only one of the following locations: 

  • Williamsburg Library

  • James City County Library, or the

  • Williamsburg Regional Library Mobile Library Services.


What can you earn?


Prizes will be  awarded at three levels:

  • Tier One:  $10,000-$499,000

  • Tier Two:  $500,000-$999,000

  • Tier Three:  $1,000,000 or more--Million Dollar Club--$50 Visa Card

Deal or No Deal?  Additionally, you can choose to bid for specific prizes (a list will be available a few weeks before the end of the program).  The highest bid will win each prize.  If you do not win a prize that you bid on, you will receive the appropriate Tier level prize.
