May is National Arthritis Month

The Williamsburg Regional Library has partnered with the Williamsburg Arthritis Project to connect our community with helpful information and useful resources in the area in order to create more awareness about arthritis. Throughout the month, there will be displays at both library locations, which feature books and videos from the library’s collection plus pamphlets provided by the Arthritis Foundation. Also, there will be a series of FREE educational workshops sponsored by the Williamsburg Arthritis Project, which will be held in the Williamsburg Library Theatre (515 Scotland Street, Williamsburg) during the following dates and times:

Thursday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. - "Arthritis and Surgical Options" - presented by Douglas K. Ayres, M.D, VA Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, P.C.

Thursday, May 9 at 7:00 p.m. - "New Treatment Options" - presented by Christopher A. Hakim, M.D, Arthritis & Rheumatic Diseases, P.C.

Saturday, May 11 at 10:00 a.m. - "The Impact of Chronic Illness on Families... And What to do About It" - presented by noted author Gregg Piburn

Tuesday, May 14 at 7:00 p.m. - "Edit RA: Early Diagnosis, Intervention & Treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis" - presented by Misty Mason, MS, RN, FNP, Arthritis & Rheumatic Diseases, P.C.

Wednesday, May 29 at 7:00 p.m. - "Taking Control of Arthritis Pain" - presented by Misty Mason, MS, RN, FNP, Arthritis & Rheumatic Diseases, P.C.

The Williamsburg Arthritis Project, funded by the Williamsburg Community Health Foundation, seeks to introduce a number of proven national Arthritis Foundation programs into the community.
