Former WRL Bookmobile
Finds a New Home

The Williamsburg Regional Library recently donated its former bookmobile to the Heritage Public Library. The bookmobile had been a part of the Williamsburg Regional Library’s services since June 1988, when the vehicle was purchased with federal funds. When a newer and larger model was delivered to the library early this year, the old one was getting little use, aside from a stint at a local shopping center which provided book circulation while the downtown library was being renovated.

The Heritage Public Library, which serves New Kent and Charles City Counties, was happy to receive the bookmobile, which will be used to provide stationary library service in Charles City County.

The Heritage Public Library is no stranger to the Williamsburg Regional Library’s generosity. In June of this year, Williamsburg Regional Library agreed to load Heritage’s Homepage onto its server, helping promote Heritage’s services to the public.
