AUGUST
20-27, 2000
The
Williamsburg and James City County Libraries will be
accepting new school supplies as payment for overdue
fines from August 20 through 27, 2000. A
package of school supplies will erase the fine for
one overdue item. An overdue item can be a video,
cassette, CD or book. However, fees for lost of
damaged items will not be covered by a donation.
Suggested
donations include: three-ring binders, pocket
folders, composition books, #2 pencils, black or blue
pens, erasers, crayons, colored pencils, markers,
highlighters, spiral notebooks, glue, rulers,
scissors and loose leaf paper, etc. All donations
must be unused and in their original packaging. No
single small items (i.e, a pencil or a few sheets of
paper) will be accepted.
Collected
school supplies will be donated to local
organizations for distribution to children in need. The
"Erase Your Fines" program is valid August
20-27 only. There is no limit on the amount
of fines waived or the quantity of materials
returned. Please call (757) 259-7753 for further
information.
