Food For Fines

June 7 - 14, 1999

The Williamsburg and James City County Libraries will be accepting canned and dry goods as payment for overdue fines from June 7 - 14, 1999. One canned or dry good (cake mix, can of green beans, etc.) Will cover the fine for one overdue item. (A list of suggested donations is below.) An overdue item can be a video, cassette, CD, or book. Fees for lost or damaged items will not be covered by a food donation.

Collected food will be donated to local charities for distribution to families in need. The Food for Fines program is valid June 7 through 14 only. There is no limit on the amount of fines waived or the quantity of materials returned. Please call 259-7753 for more information.

Suggested Food Donations:
cereal, canned soup, instant potatoes, stuffing mix, pie crust mix, pie mix, cranberry sauce, gravy or gravy mix, jello, canned juice, canned corn, canned green vegetables, evaporated milk, canned fruit, peanut butter, canned meat, crackers, rice, pasta, spaghetti sauce, etc.
