About the Williamsburg Library Closing
- When will the
Williamsburg Library be closed?
The
Williamsburg Library on Scotland Street will be closed to
the public from December 17, 1997 through January
2, 1998. We will reopen to the public on Saturday,
January 3, 1998.
- Can I still return
my books at the Williamsburg Libary during the closing?
Yes,
you can return books at the Williamsburg Library's book
drops, which will remain in operation during the closing.
Williamsburg Library books and other materials may also
be dropped off at the James City County Library, 7770
Croaker Road in Norge. Items checked out from either
library from November 26 to December 16
will have 6-week loan periods to avoid
the closed period of time.
- Will the Meeting
Rooms and Williamsburg Library Theatre also be closed
during this time?
No.
The closing will not affect meeting room reservations or
scheduled events in the Williamsburg Library Theatre.

- Can I still pick
up the items that I had on reserve / interlibrary loan at
the Williamsburg Library?
Yes.
You may pick up your reserves / interlibrary loans
between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. December 17, 18, 22,
23, 29, 30 and 31 at the Arts Center
entrance. If you would like to change your pick
up location to the James City County Library, please do
so before December 17. Please call 259-7753
for questions regarding your reserve items.
- What are the James
City County Library's hours?
The
James City County Library will be open during the
Williamsburg Library's closing period. Regular hours are:
Monday -
Thursday: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday: Closed
Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday: 1 to 5 p.m. (closed Sundays from Memorial Day through
Labor Day weekends) Except
Holidays
- Please note the following
exceptions: We will be closed on: Dec.
24, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. We will close at
5:00 p.m. on December 23 and 31.
