Speech Reading / Lip Reading Seminar at the Library
Saturday, November 14, 1998Professor Scott Bally from Gallaudet University will conduct a speech reading seminar as part of the monthly meeting of Williamsburg Self-Help for the Hard of Hearing (WISHHH). Bally has written two books on the subject and conducted similar workshops throughout the U.S. The 75-minute seminar begins at 10:30 a.m. at the James City County Library and is free of charge. An afternoon seminar on the subject begins at noon with a box lunch and continues until 4:00 p.m. There is a $15 registration fee for the afternoon portion. There will be a hearing assist loop and real time captioning of both sessions. The event is sponsored by WISHHH, the Virginia Department of Deaf and Hard of Hearing (VDDHH), and the Williamsburg Regional Library.
