Publishers Marketing Co-op Enriches Library with Generous
Donation The Travel Publishers Marketing Co-op, a group of 24 individual publishers, recently donated nearly $1,000 worth of books to the Williamsburg Regional Library. The co-op ranges from giant 300-publisher Eiron Inc. to single-title presses like Beau Monde Press. They offer fabulous information allowing budget travelers, business officials, families, art lovers, motor-home owners, and exotic explorers to plan their own trips starting at their local library. The donation came about through a business card drawing at this year's American Library Association exhibition. Jeannette Belliveau of the Travel Publishers Marketing Co-op explains, "We received 450 business cards at our Travel Publishers booth from librarians entering our contest to win all our books. We drew six names of librarians in districts from Maryland to California, and from this group drew the name of the grand prize winner: Jeff Kempe, Adult Services Reference Librarian at the Williamsburg Regional Library in Virginia." |
Jeff was thrilled when Jeannette called him with the news. "We have older patrons who travel everywhere," he said, "and students who are also seeking information - William and Mary College is right here. We are very excited to receive these books."
The donated books cover a variety of subjects relating to travel, from "Eat Smart in Brazil" to "An Amateur's Guide to the Planet."
