Tax Aide

AARP Tax-Aide is a program of the AARP Foundation and is offered in conjunction with the IRS. The program's mission is to provide high-quality, free income tax assistance and tax form preparation to low- and moderate-income taxpayers, with special attention to those age 60 and older. Free electronic filing is offered.

Those seeking assistance must bring Social Security cards for everyone on the tax return including dependents, a photo ID, all wage statements and tax forms received in the mail, and a copy of last year's tax return if available.

Federal tax forms will be available at both library locations.  You can also download all tax forms from the IRS website at www.irs.gov.

State tax forms are NOT available at the libraries but can be obtained at the local Commissioner of Revenue offices and online from the Virginia Dept. of Taxation website, www.tax.virginia.gov.
