A BLUES REVIEW:
featuring Bill Thompson, Bobby Blackhat, and the Michael Clark Band featuring Tracy Clark
Co-sponsored with the Natchel' Blues Network, this evening will feature three sets with 13 musicians performing this unique American music.

Thompson’s music bristles with the infectious, syncopated sounds of New Orleans, the electricity of great rock ‘n’ roll, the punchy verve of Memphis soul and the heartfelt power of blues, funk and jazz. Whether working on his own, leading a band, or backing such accomplished musicians as Art Neville of the Neville Brothers, blues icons, Little Milton, Albert and Earl King or even Broadway’s Leslie Uggams, singer-songwiter-guitarist Billy Thompson has earned consistent public and critical acclaim since 1987.

Bobby "BlackHat" Walters, recording artist, harmonica player, vocalist, songwriter and 2008 International Blues Challenge Semi-Finalist, hails from Cleveland, Ohio and has been playing harp for over 30 years. Bobby believes that the best blues comes from personal experience and you can see that philosophy in his orginal works. Bobby has shared the stage with Kenny Neal, Bill Deal and the Rhondels, Jason Ricci and New Blood, Eddie Shaw and Wolfgang, Daryl, Davis, and Ruthie Foster. Bobby BlackHat has been voted the MEONA 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 "Harp Player of the Year" and the 2004, 2005 "Blues Entertainer of the Year." Bobby and Guitarist Larry Berwald were semi-finalists in the solo/duo category at the 2008 International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN.

R&B, Blues, Soul, Rock, Jazz, Funk. These are the musical styles blended by The Michael Clark Band featuring Tracy Clark -- sometimes in the same song! In the classic tradition of The Ike and Tina Turner Revue, the band incorporates many different musical styles into their show. Powerful vocals and tight musical arrangements are trademarks of every performance.
