Williamsburg Women's Chorus presents
Dreams From A River, Songs From the Sea
In this, their 45th anniversary celebration concert, the Williamsburg Women's Chorus directed by Ann Porter and accompanied by Christine Niehaus presents a spring concert, Dreams From a River, Songs From the Sea. Featured works will include "Hymns of the Rig Veda" by Gustav Holst, which is believed by many to be some of the most beautiful music written for female voices and harp. Composer Deen Entsminger returns to conduct the newest installment of the second movement of "Godspeed," commissioned by the Chorus. Keeping with the water theme, the chorus will also perform Gwyneth Walker's arrangement of the beloved "Peace, I Ask of Thee, Oh River," followed by some whimsical Canadian tunes celebrating the glories of its waterways. Guest musicians will include harpist, Vince Zentner, and Deby Kidney, flutist.
