Exhibition Opening Reception:
A GLASS ARMONICA CONCERT
Local musician Dean Shostak introduces audiences to music of Benjamin Franklin's Glass Armonica, which he invented in 1761. The glass armonica was one of the most celebrated instruments of the 18th century, and noted contemporary composers such as Mozart and Donizetti would write music for it. Dean Shostak has been featured on "All Thing's Considered," "The Early Show," "Mr. Roger's Neighborhood," CNN, HGTV, and many other programs. His music can even be heard on The Weather Channel.
This reception and all other programs associated with this exhibit are made possible through a grant from the Friends of Williamsburg Regional Library.
