Combining thought-provoking lyrics, captivating melodies, soulful vocals, virtuosic instrumentals and imaginative arrangements, Virginia's Old School Freight Train plays innovative contemporary acoustic music. OSFT gained accolades from mandolin genius David Grisman, who produced the band's recent album "RUN," and said that "After forty years of recording acoustic music, it is not very often that a new band catches - and keeps - my attention. Old School Freight Train has done that and more." Old School Freight Train offers a unique musical experience that's both tangible and of superior quality, raising the bar in acoustic music. (One night only, so it's sure to sell out!) Tickets are $15 adults, $13 students/Friends of WRL w. I.D., and $7 under 16. (757) 259-4070   Read more: http://www.wrl.org/programs/concerts.html

Author Visit - Edward Lengel - 7:00 p.m. - WL Theatre
From his battle reports to family notes, George Washington wrote about 140,000 letters between 1776 and 1783. Edward Lengel, associate editor of The Papers of George Washington, selected the most important and meaningful ones for his new book This Glorious Struggle. Lengel will be discussing those letters, and his insights into the man at the center of those perilous times. Washington revealed much of his private self through his correspondence, which Lengel has arranged with 'a sense of immediacy' (Booklist) into a 'satisfying and thought-provoking' collection (Washington Post Book World). Reservations / tickets not required for this free event.
