Elizabeth Taylor stars in this soap opera set on a lush and lovely plantation in Ceylon called "Elephant Walk." This hilarious new comedy takes place in a radio station during the 40s and 50s when radio was king. "Our Little Buttercup" is performed live with actors, sound effects and music and recreates those wonderful programs reminiscent of the "Golden Era" of radio. Celtic Film Series - The Wind that Shakes the Barley (unrated, 2006) - 7:00 p.m. - WL Theatre
Winner of the Palme d'Or at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival, this unrated, gripping drama is set during the early days of the Irish Republican Army, when British occupation of the Irish radicalized many a citizen and caused some to take up arms. Cillian Murphy ("Cold Mountain," "Batman Begins") plays Damien, a medical student on his way to London when he witnesses atrocities committed by British troops. Instead of becoming a doctor, he turns into a leading and respected figure in an IRA division led by his brother, Teddy (Padraic Delaney, from "The Tudors."). Presented in cooperation with the local chapters of the St. Andrew's Society and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. - FREE
