Centuries of Art @ Your Library - Taking Liberties: Archibald Knox and the Celtic Revival - 7:30 p.m. - WL Theatre
In England at the turn of the last century everyone knew Liberty & Co., the London firm founded in 1875 that sold modern design to the British Middle Class. This illustrated talk will introduce the man who taught design in London, researched and illustrated ancient crosses on the Isle of Man, and is now credited with defining the look of Liberty's and the Celtic Revival. 

Centuries of Art @ Your Library is a partnership between This Century Gallery, the Williamsburg Regional Library and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA). These programs have been organized by the Office of Statewide Partnerships of the VMFA, Richmond, and are supported by the Paul Mellon Endowment. - FREE

What is the relationship between migration and film? How has film helped us understand and respond to the role of migration in shaping modern lives? Celtic Film - My Way Home (rated PG, 1978) - 7:00 p.m. - WL Theatre
The concluding film in Bill Douglas' influential trilogy, My Way Home follows Jamie from a children's home in Edinburgh back to his hometown. Faced with the prospect of going down in the mines, Jamie rebels, telling his uncomprehending family he intends to be an artist. He runs off back to Edinburgh where he eventually lands on the streets and is drafted. The Library presents the Celtic Film Series in cooperation with the local chapters of the St. Andrews Society and the Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. The series explores the history, drama and quirky humor of films made in or about Scotland and Ireland. - FREE
