A glossy soap opera about three young women in NYC looking for careers, love and "the best of everything." En route to Antarctica, a British team led by the dashing Captain Robert Scott, received shocking news: Norwegian Roald Amundsen's rival expedition had changed course and was also making a dash for the South Pole. This epic 1911 race to plant the first flag at the Pole electrified the world. Hear Retired Coast Guard Captain Richard Asaro speak about how the personalities of the two explorers led to success in one case and utter disaster for the other. 

Written in Bone: Forensic Files of the 17th Century Chesapeake - 7:30 p.m. - WL Theatre
Smithsonian Institution forensic anthropologist Dr. Douglas W. Owsley discovers the past by examining the bones of people who, whether by choice or by force, came to the Chesapeake 400 years ago. In a free talk he'll discuss the investigative techniques used to analyze these human remains, and what their studies reveal about the lives and deaths of these early Virginians.

Sculpture Dedication Ceremony - 6:00 p.m. - JCCL
The dedication of the sculpture "Hidden in the Pages" at the James City County Library, created by Cyd Player, is scheduled for September 23. The sculpture was commissioned by the Williamsburg Regional Library Foundation and funded through private donors.  There will be a reception in the Kitzinger Community Room afterwards.
