Celtic Film - Agnes Brown (1999, rated R) - 7:00 p.m. - WL Theatre
The Library and the Ancient Order of Hibernians announce the return of the Celtic Film Series, featuring films exploring the history, drama and quirky humor of films made in or about Celtic lands. The unexpected death of her husband sends a woman (Angelica Houston, who also directed) and her seven children, ages 2-14, into emotional turmoil and financial crisis in 1967 Dublin.

Thursday Afternoon Film Series - Jane Eyre (1944, unrated) - 2:00 p.m. - WL Theatre
Orson Welles and Joan Fontaine star in this dark, atmospheric version of Charlotte Bronte's gothic masterpiece. Although directed by Robert Stevenson, Welles' behind the scenes influence on the production is apparent. The screenplay was written by Aldous Huxley and John Houseman.

One of America's foremost expressive virtuosos on the hammered dulcimer and flute, Timothy Seaman has thrilled audiences for two decades with his compelling and heartfelt renditions of the greatest lyrical music. His twelve best-selling CDs focus on Virginia parks, nature and history as well as Christmas themes. Both familiar and rare music from Christmas, Hanukkah, and the winter season will combine with classic and new Celtic airs as well as shining new compositions to fill two hours with joy and wonder. Seaman's powerful pianistic hammered dulcimer and dramatic flute are widely recognized voices of the season, together with his mountain dulcimer, bamboo flute, low whistle, and psaltery.  Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 Friends/students, and $6 under 16. Peninsula Concert Band - 7:30 p.m., 7:00 p.m. doors - WL Theatre 
A free concert of holiday music and popular favorites presented by this ensemble of more than 40 musicians. The Peninsula Concert Band is now in its 59th year of performing in the Tidewater area. The band is a non- profit organization chartered in 1956 to serve the Peninsula cities. It is made up of members of local military bands as well as civilian musicians. Advance tickets will not be distributed for this concert. A free-will donation will be accepted to benefit the band.

A young priest who likes to sing (Bing Crosby) is brought in to assist old Father Fitzgibbon (Barry Fitzgerald) in reviving a troubled parrish, but the two immediately clash. This genial charmer was directed by Leo McCarey and won seven Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Song, "Swinging on a Star.

Crafts are for all ages, but parents will need to help the little ones with theirs.
