Anyone who resides or owns a business or property in a city or county that funds the Williamsburg Regional Library is eligible for a library card. Card privileges may vary depending on your city or county of residence. A list of privileges is available upon request.
Once you sign up for your library card, you will be emailed your new library card number. This card will give you access to all our digital collections for 30 days. In order to convert your card to a fully functional card where you can check out physical items and use our curbside service, you must follow these steps:
- Present picture identification and proof of current address within 30 days of applying online for a card.
- You can either stop by the greeter at either library to finalize your card or email a scan/photo of your picture ID and proof of address to firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Most users present a driver’s license, but if you have just moved here, you can use a bill, lease agreement, or closing documents to show current address.
- Children may be identified by a parent or guardian with photo ID and proof of current address.
Once you get your library card number, we encourage you to download the WRL app and enter in the number. You won’t need your physical card but can scan the card number from your phone or use it to check out digital materials. We can provide you a physical card in the mail if you so choose.
