Learning to read is an exciting time, and we’re here to celebrate it! This book club is designed to support the emerging literacy of elementary school kids ages 5 – 8. Each month we read, play games, and participate in fun activities based on another awesome early reader book. After the meeting, participants will get a free copy of the book to keep.

New members are always welcome, and there is no commitment to attend every meeting. Registration is required each month and space is limited. If the 2 p.m. session is full, we will offer a second session — consisting of the same book, activity, and craft — at 3 p.m. Check the event calendar at wrl.org/events for dates; for more information, call the Youth Services desk at 757.741.3300, option 4.

April’s book is Princess Pulverizer: Grilled Cheese and Dragons by Nancy E. Krulik.
