Come one, come all to WRL’s Summer Reading Carnival! We’re here to celebrate literacy, stop the “summer slide”, and provide fun for kids all summer long! This program is for kids from birth through high school. Register at wrl.beanstack.org or click on the “Log Your Books” button below.

You can start logging your reading in Beanstack on June 1. See our Summer Reading FAQ for more information about logging.

Beginning June 20, come to either library each week to check in, tell us about what you’ve been reading, and pick up prizes.

Kids through 5th grade can collect brag tags weekly to show their reading progress over the summer, plus earn bonus prizes like free ice cream coupons.

(Babies/toddlers will get an alternate prize.) Kids who reach their reading goal will get a gold library card, or if they already have one, a special golden ticket for a second book during Free Book Week.

Teens in grades 6-12 will earn a weekly prize, plus virtual tickets to enter into larger Beanstack prize drawings, held in August. Teens who reach their reading goal will earn a $10 gift card to Barnes & Noble. View the teen event calendar.

Last but not least, every participant can choose a book to take home during the Free Book Week celebration!

The Williamsburg Regional Library, with the generous support of the Friends of WRL Foundation, the Herbert Friedman Library Fund, and other donors, offers the Summer Reading Program for all ages who live in Williamsburg, James City, or York counties.
