WJCC Students — Have You Downloaded the Sora App?
Williamsburg Regional Library and Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools are joining forces to increase access to ebooks and digital audiobooks for students! The Sora app allows students to browse and borrow from among thousands of age-appropriate titles from home, school, or wherever they happen to be, 24/7. The app combines WRL’s children’s and young adult ebook collections, which include nearly 10,000 titles in total, with WJCC Schools’ digital ebook and audiobook collections to give students an unprecedented range of options for both educational and pleasure reading. Additionally, Sora supports teachers by offering education-specific tools like achievements, exportable notes, and reading progress logs that encourage individualized learning. The Sora app was named one of TIME’s Best Inventions 2019 and is available for WJCC Schools students to download through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and on Chromebooks that support the Google Play Store. It is also available for use in web browsers at https://soraapp.com on any computer.
