Eat Local: Benefits of Eating Local

Michael and Amy Drewry of Drewry Farms will offer this opening lecture about the benefits of eating local to both your health and our local economy. Attendees will learn some of the food traditions of Southeastern Virginia from a multi-generational farming family, and explore the heritage of many of our unique regional crops. Our speakers will also discuss the challenges of farming and purchasing local foods, and possible solutions to the problems that arise.
