Beginning January 2022, the Williamsburg Regional Library will be premiering a new movie series called Movie Tuesday. Every Tuesday afternoon between 2:00 and 4:00 pm we will be showing a variety of free films and documentaries for the adult moviegoer in the Williamsburg Library Theatre. 

January 4: News of the World (2020), 2-4:00 p.m.

  • A traumatized Civil War veteran reluctantly agrees to transport a young white girl raised by Native Americans back to her relatives in this elegiac western that stars Tom Hanks and Helena Zengel. PG-13 

January 11: Dark Horse (2015), 2-3:35 p.m.

  • This feel-good documentary tells the story behind Dream Alliance, an unlikely racehorse bred by a small-town bartender and her working-class neighbors, who all chip in to compete with the elite in the Welsh National. PG 

January 18: Wuthering Heights (1939), 2-3:50  p.m.

  • Laurence Olivier and Merle Oberon star in Emily Bronte’s dark tale of star-crossed lovers in 19th-century England. William Wyler directed this superb film that was nominated for seven Academy Awards. NR 

January 25: The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart? (2020), 2-3:50  p.m.

  • This HBO documentary charts the evolving music (and hairstyles) of Barry, Maurice, and Robin Gibb, stayin’ alive through five decades of #1 hits. Director Frank Marshall (Seabiscuit) compiles interviews and never-before-seen footage of recording sessions to take you from their Beatles-esque debut through disco fever to Barry’s latest album. TV-M
