This month we’re discussing The Children’s Blizzard by Melanie Benjamin. A beautiful January day on the Great Plains turned to tragedy when a killing storm struck in 1888. Three young women made choices that day, turning them into heroes or villains. Historical novelist Melanie Benjamin tells their story, along with that of a newspaperman who convinced immigrants to settle there without regard to the people who had lived there before.

Plus, mark your calendars now: Melanie Benjamin will visit the Williamsburg Library on September 27.

Turning Pages explores classic and contemporary fiction and nonfiction from around the world. This group will sample critically acclaimed and prize-winning titles with open and inclusive discussion.

Please note that this is an in-person event at the Williamsburg Library, but you can also join us via Zoom.
