This month we’re discussing The Children’s Blizzard by Melanie Benjamin. A beautiful January day on the Great Plains turned to tragedy when a killing storm struck in 1888. Three young women made choices that day, turning them into heroes or villains. Historical novelist Melanie Benjamin tells their story, along with that of a newspaperman who convinced immigrants to settle there without regard to the people who had lived there before. Benjamin will visit the Williamsburg Library on September 27 at 6:30 p.m.

Turning Pages explores classic and contemporary fiction and nonfiction from around the world. This group will sample critically acclaimed and prize-winning titles with open and inclusive discussion.
