WhoDunnits: A Mystery Book Club
December 7 @ 6:30 pm
WhoDunnits is a discussion group devoted to mysteries that follows a yearlong program of books and movies around a single topic. This year it’s historical mysteries.
This month we’re discussing A Morbid Taste for Bones by Ellis Peters. Set during the tumultuous period of English history known as “The Anarchy”, this richly detailed medieval mystery series is centered on Brother Cadfael, a Welsh monk and former crusader knight whose skills as an apothecary, unorthodox social views, and knowledge of life outside the cloister make him as controversial of a monk as he is an effective detective.
In this first entry of the series, Brother Cadfael travels to the remote Welsh mountain village of Gwytherin in order to acquire the relics of St. Winifred and finds himself in the middle of a bizarre mystery when the leading opponent to moving the bones is murdered.
