Women in Art: Not Knowing
February 17, 2020 @ 7:30 pm
For the past six years, Richmond-based artist Blythe King has been creating multi-layered portraits of women. These subjects are not icons, movie stars, or divas; instead, their anonymity allows us to see them in entirely new ways. By not knowing them, these women can become everyone. Join King in a discussion about not knowing, and about how her background in Buddhist philosophy, Japanese art, antique collecting, and the effects of popular culture informs her teaching, art, and life.
