The Friends of WRL recently engaged in a capital campaign to fund the Kiwanis Kids Idea Studio at the James City County Library. This newly renovated children’s room is an interactive and hands-on learning space.
In 2017, the Friends of WRL completed a capital campaign on behalf of the library, in support of the Stryker Center. The majority of the new building is dedicated to the library. The campaign contributed toward the cost of the library facilities in the Stryker Center. A portion of that total is to support direct library costs related to the Stryker Center. The campaign also set as a goal to increase the Friends of WRL Foundation’s Endowment by $150,000. This helps our library to continue to invest in excellence in perpetuity. The campaign raised more than $760,000 in gifts and pledges.
