Friends of Williamsburg Regional Library

Our Library – Our Future

While local governments cover our library’s general operating costs, funding from the Friends of Williamsburg Regional Library Foundation helps our library achieve a level of excellence by adding to its collections, developing new programs, and investing in its facilities. The Friends envision a Williamsburg Regional Library that has everything it needs to dream big. The Friends has around $3.1 million in endowment and other invested funds which generate over $80,000 annually in income.

The Endowment is conservatively invested under the supervision of the Friends of WRL Foundation’s Finance-Endowment Committee. Only the earnings are spent, keeping the principal intact. The Friends of WRL Foundation’s Board of Directors allocates funding based on the library’s strategic priorities and in keeping with the wishes of our donors.

You can donate to any of the endowment funds listed below and ensure that our library’s collections, programs, and services continue to grow in perpetuity.
