Friends of Williamsburg Regional Library
Bequests are one of the easiest, most flexible and popular ways to provide future support for the Williamsburg Regional Library. Your bequest can be used to add to one of our many existing program endowments, establish a named endowment, or provide unrestricted support for the area of greatest need. We encourage you to contact the Library Development Office when making any provision in your estate plans to ensure that your bequest can be used in the way you that you intend it.
In making your bequest, please specify the Friends of Williamsburg Regional Library Foundation as beneficiary. This is our supporting Foundation which holds and receives bequests and endowments for the support of the library. The federal tax identification number of the Foundation is 54-1639135.
Wills and Revocable Living Trusts
The following is an example of an unrestricted bequest through a will or revocable living trust to be reviewed by your attorney:
I give, devise, and bequeath ____ percent of my residuary estate [or a specific bequest of $__________] to the Friends of Williamsburg Regional Library Foundation, a charitable corporation, located in Williamsburg, Virginia for the general support of the Williamsburg Regional Library.
If you prefer to designate your bequest for a specific endowment or other purpose, we would be pleased to provide specific language for you to share with your attorney.
Other Bequest Methods
You can also name the Friends of Williamsburg Regional Library Foundation as primary or contingent beneficiary of a brokerage or other financial account, life insurance policy, IRA, 403 (b), 401(k), or other retirement plan. We would be pleased to assist with the appropriate information to include on the beneficiary form.
