Birth – Preschool
Read 1,000 books to your little one before kindergarten.
Kindergarten – 5th Grade
Explore new worlds, meet new people, and learn new things by reading just 20 minutes a day.
6th – 12th Grade
Reading can still be fun. Experiment with a variety of formats, explore new genres, and listen to diverse viewpoints.
WRL also offers reading programs such as book clubs, reading with therapy dogs, and the Battle of the Books. While we are not able to hold these programs in person currently, some are still available virtually. Check the calendar at wrl.org/events for the most current information.
Each year WRL hosts a Battle of the Books for 4th-5th and 6th-8th graders. Students read 12 books, and then test their knowledge in local and regional competitions.
Next Chapter Book Club is a unique community-based book club for adolescents and adults with Down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
