We miss all of our storytime patrons a lot, but while the library is closed, we will be offering an online storytime every Monday, Apr 13 – May 25, at 11 a.m. on Facebook live, where you can sing along and hear a fun story from the WRL children’s librarians. You can also check out our Youth and Family playlist on Youtube for stories, puppet shows, crafts, and more. If you are missing the baby storytime songs, you can download a storytime songsheet. We look forward to seeing everyone again once we reopen!

What do we do in storytime?

Baby Storytime is a lapsit program especially for babies and their caregivers. This storytime includes 15 minutes of songs, fingerplays and lap games, plus time for your child to play and time for you to visit with other caregivers. The fall baby storytime will feature the same songs and activities every week. This repetition of rhymes and songs forms a foundation for learning for your baby and strengthens the language connections in the brain. A short, optional playtime follows baby storytime.

Toddler Storytime is designed for toddlers and their caregivers, featuring brief stories, rhymes, songs, fingerplays and other activities. A short, optional playtime follows.

Preschool Storytime is designed for preschoolers and their caregivers, featuring stories, rhymes, songs, fingerplays and other activities.

Storytimes are designed for caregivers and their children. Due to capacity restrictions, we are not able to accommodate childcare centers at storytimes.
