The Williamsburg Regional Library offers storytimes for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers each week at both locations. All storytimes begin at 10 a.m.

Baby Storytime is a lapsit storytime program especially for babies from birth to 18 months and their caregivers. This storytime includes 15 minutes of songs, fingerplays, and lap games. The baby storytime will feature the same songs and activities every week; this repetition of rhymes and songs forms a foundation for learning for your baby and strengthens the language connections in the brain.

Toddler Storytime (ages 18 months to 3 years) and Preschool Storytime (ages 3 to 5 years) both feature 20-30 minutes of stories, rhymes, songs, fingerplays, and other activities designed for children and their caregivers.

Currently, storytimes will occur outside, weather permitting.

Storywalks

Looking for more stories? Try our StoryWalk™ at the James City County Library. You can take a walk outside the library and read a picture book along the way.

The StoryWalk™ Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition (VBPC) and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.

This month we’re featuring Mo’s Mustache by Ben Clanton.

You can stop by the Youth Services desk to pick up materials to make your own ‘stache. Don’t forget to send us a picture!
