Mad Science Discovery Stations

Did you know you can make your own crazy bouncing ball in five minutes? Try it out at the make-and-take booth, or indulge your creativity and make your own lava lamp.

Explore a sonic sounds discovery station to change your voice as you learn how sound waves can be manipulated. They can even make water dance!

Investigate air pressure through a discovery station that demonstrates the floating world of Bernoulli’s principle. See how the air around us can crush cans and more!

Our January STEAM Saturday is all about science. Not only will we have the experts from Mad Science, we’ll also offer discovery stations with interactive STEAM activities and science-related art projects.

STEAM SaturdaysSpend some quality time with your family during our STEAM Saturdays! STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, art, and math – all the areas kids love to explore. Each month we’ll present a different STEAM-related program along with hands-on activities and crafts. Try one or try them all. STEAM Saturday programs and activities are designed with school-aged kids in mind, and are made possible by the generous support of the Friends of Williamsburg Regional Library Foundation.
