Space Day

Take a giant leap into our celebration of the 50th anniversary of the moon landing with a day of fun space activities.

At 11 a.m., we’ll have a Lunar Storytime and Astronaut Academy. We’ll read stories and sing songs, then you’ll get a chance to test your future astronaut skills with spin training, space walking, station building, and more. For ages 5 and under.

At 1 and 2:30 p.m., Mad Science of Hampton Roads will present Space Phenomena. Probe the mysteries of meteors and bounce around satellite light in this out-of-this-world program on space events. For ages 6+.

Between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m., you can make your own rocket, then launch it 200 feet into the air using our compressed air rocket launcher. Recommended for ages 6+.
