Come to the Abram Frink Jr. Community Center to learn the science behind things that move. Build your own rocket out of paper, tape, and other materials then launch it 200 feet into the sky using our compressed air rocket launcher! You can also create and test your own paper airplanes and color and test your own boomerang.
But the fun doesn’t end there – come any time between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for more STEAM-related crafts and activities. Have you ever heard of a piano made of bananas? You can build one with Makey Makey circuit boards. We have app-enabled robot orbs you can program and control, Tinkertoys, a rollercoaster challenge, and an epic domino rally!
STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, art, and math – all the areas kids love to explore. Each month we’ll present a different STEAM-related program along with hands-on activities and crafts, designed with school-aged kids in mind, and made possible by the generous support of the Friends of Williamsburg Regional Library Foundation.
