WhoDunnits Book Discussion: Eye of the Red Tsar

WhoDunnits is a discussion group devoted to mysteries that follows a yearlong program of books and movies around a single topic. This year we're taking a look at International Mysteries, both contemporary and historical.  It’s murder worldwide!

This month we'll be discussing Sam Eastland's Eye of the Red Tsar. Summoned from the Soviet gulag after ten years in prison, Prisoner 4745-P learns he might be rehabilitated. He only has to find the Tsar's assassins, the family's bodies, and the rumored surviving royal child. 4745-P was once Inspector Pekkala, renowned for his intelligence and persistence in the Tsar's service. But this is Stalin's Russia, where secrets and betrayal rule.

December's meeting is social time and a mystery movie, but we'll be passing out January's title, The Janissary Tree.
